Size: 298 x 197 cm 100% fine wool Beni Mguild The BENI M’GUILD tribe is from the northern Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco and they tend to produce the most dense, heavy rugs due to the harsh climate. The pile is thick and the rugs tend to have tone-on-tone designs. The Beni M'guild region in the western Middle Atlas of Morocco can be quite harsh in the winters months, so their rugs are very thick in pile to protect them against the cold. Woven by the women on a vertical loom they tend to have simple geometric designs running down or across the carpet with a background of red, brown, white or sometimes blue. Please note: This is a vintage item and you should expect to see evidence of wear, potentially some reparations and slight ‘imperfections’, which I believe add to the character and charm of the rug.
