Caspian Blue Reactive Glaze Salad Plate

The simple, classic shape of our Caspian salad plate puts the focus on its beautiful blue reactive glaze. Undergoing chemical changes during firing, the glaze produces one-of-a-kind patterns and luminous, variable blue tones. As it cascades down the plate, the glaze transitions from aqua to cobalt, peppered throughout with unique markings and crackles. This intentional and desirable crazing occurs during firing, and the craquelure can develop more complexity over the years whenever the raw natural materials expand and contract.
