It's insulated with 2.3 oz of 850+FP TORAY Quixdown (50% less down than Super Down PRO), making it KUIU's lightest down jacket. Our Super Down products outperform the competition. We start with the best Polish goose down, which is cleaned, refined and processed by Kawada Feather in Meiwa, Japan. Their proprietary techniques perfect the down to a remarkable 850+ fill power and 95:5 down to feather ratio. Once cleaned, we treat the down with TORAY's DWR, so each individual cluster is impervious to water; keeping its insulating loft even when wet. The outer ultralight 12D nylon Stunner Stretch fabric is wind-proof and comfortable. It's heat-treated to keep the down from migrating through the fabric, eliminating the need for noisy down-proof coatings. The fabric is also treated with TORAY K-DWR to repel light rain and snow. The positioning of the front pockets is above the belt line, offering accessibility while wearing a pack. The jacket compresses and self-stows inside the left zippered pocket for compact storage.
