Jeans have evolved a lot over the past century, but there was once a time when they were simply a wide-fitting, robust piece of workwear. We cherish the utilitarian roots of the five-pocket jean and this is evident in our Wide Leg Jeans.
These jeans are a true wide fit with a full leg, high rise, and large leg opening. As a nod to early 20th century traditional waist overalls, we left the rear pocket rivets exposed and fitted a Japan-made two prong cinch to help them sit high on the waist. Just how they should.
This edition of our Wide Leg Jean is made from 14oz raw white selvedge a faithful replication of an original 1940's quality, 100% organic cotton. It’s sanforized, so no soaking needed - you can wear them from the jump. And at 14 oz. per square yard, it’s got the right amount of heft to drape handsomely without being too heavy to wear in the warmer months. Expect authentically vintage fades with wear, shimmering tones of lighter indigo, charming roping on the waistband, yoke, and hems, and a fabric that will soften up beautifully over time.
Each pair of Dawson Wide Leg Jeans are handmade in our Brighton workshop using vintage sewing machines, and finished with a selvedge fly, Reece 101 button holes, and a hand-branded Dawson waist patch.

The Junior Deck Pants, designed for children. We based these on our Deck Pants, but cut the junior versions in a one panel piece, meaning no outseam and less to get caught or frayed in the playpark. We also fitted them with an elastic waistband for comfort and longevity. The Junior Deck Pants are available in the same fabric and colour make ups as the Junior Deck Jacket, and come in a releaxed straight leg fit with roomy rear and thigh patch pockets.

This edition of our Wide Leg Jean is made from 13.5 oz redline raw selvedge denim woven in Japan on 1920s Toyoda shuttle looms. This beautiful, mid-weight fabric has a brown weft yarn that will give rise to a more subtle, authentic fading pattern.Each pair of Dawson Wide Leg Jeans are handmade in our Brighton workshop using vintage sewing machines, and finished with a selvedge fly, Reece 101 button holes, and a hand-branded Dawson waist patch.
14 oz. plant-dyed indigo raw selvedge denim with a white selvedge. Made with 100% organic cotton, this natural indigo fabric is the perfect blank canvas for a fantastic pair of jeans. Founded in 1829 by Joseph Tricker we are proud to offer some of the most classic styles from this long established British Shoe maker. Based in Northampton, Trickers make a ready to wear collection and offer a more bespoke service from their factory on St Michaels Road, where the company have been since 1904.
Bourton, a classic Derby shoe with half bellows tongue and storm welt  in C-Shade with leather uppers, leather linings and dainite sole.

Denim is what we do, meaning five-pocket jeans will always be a pillar of our brand. To us, a regular fit is something that can be worn by anyone, anywhere, and embodies why jeans are such a ubiquitous garment. An unquestionable standard.
We took inspiration from leg shapes used on iconic men's jeans in the late 50's and early 60's and dialed in what we consider to be the perfect standard fit. It's a relaxed-but-tidy silhouette with a higher rise for comfort and mobility, leaving you with a jean you can throw on every day and make your own.We're back this AW22 season with a new and improved fit, we added a little one the thigh and tapered at the hem. Finishing at 32" inseam.
This pair of our Regular Fit jeans is made from 14.25 oz. raw selvedge denim, made in Japan on vintage shuttle looms. Woven from pure indigo-dyed yarns. 
We’ve teamed up with Britain's leading denim laundry for our AW22 collection to apply authentic and sustainable washes to a selection of our Japanese Selvedge workwear. Using a bleach and acid-free enzyme wash, our forward-thinking laundry neutralises the ph of all water used in the wash before recycling it, leading to a more environmentally friendly process that aligns with our morals here at Dawson. 
We sew up our jeans in our Brighton workshop using vintage Union Special sewing machines this is a limited numbered batch.

- Pure indigo rope dyed 16 times
- Stone thread colour, historically correct for late 1950's workwear, we use core spun thread designed specifically for heavy denim
- Heavy duty natural HBT pocket bags
- Horween leather patches, branded by hand or Organic Canvas printed patch.
- Die cast heavy waistband button
- Two prong nail fly buttons, this style was first patented around the 1870's
- Copper branded washer and nail rivets
- Splayed back pockets, for comfort
- Hemmed using our 1959 Union Special Hemmer
