Viken means ‘the inlet’ or ‘the cove’ in Swedish, a sheltered spot on the coast. The design is an abstract sun glowing just below the horizon, the view from our small boats after weathering the storm. The slubbiness of Mallo offers subtle texture and glimpses of the weft. Since the pattern only requires a small amount of yardage, you will have plenty of yarn to make additional coasters. Tip: Small projects like this are excellent stashbusters! Order a kit. Twofold was our 2021 quarterly subscription box for rigid heddle loom weavers, created by Christine Jablonski and Gist Yarn. All of the patterns explored a variation of doubleweave on the rigid heddle loom. We are now pleased to offer the full set of patterns and yarn kits to weavers who weren't able to join us as subscribers. Please note that we cannot sell the patterns separately, as they build upon one another and you must be able to read through the first one to understand the rest. However, if you are just interested in weaving one or a few of the projects, you can purchase the set of digital patterns, and then order your own yarn separately instead of the full kit. The Color Field Scarf is one of our earliest and most-loved patterns, first published in 2018. To welcome our newest yarn collection, we have adapted the original project to be woven with Sero Silk Noil. Designed with beginner weavers in mind, this simple pattern will introduce you to working with multiple colors in the warp and weft while enjoying the process of weaving with a softly textured silk noil yarn.
